Hey, I’m Colin! I’m the face behind the High Caliber Camping website and camper!

I am an avid outdoorsman with a mechanical engineering degree from the Colorado School of Mines. This background has led me to always demand the best from my gear – best quality, best design, and best performance. These standards weren’t really being met (at least not within my budget) when searching the current market options for a camper.

I have always enjoyed taking on new design projects, so I figured: why not build one? In 2019 I spent just over a year intensively designing and building a teardrop camper from the ground up, with very few resources to help me through.

I figured I couldn’t be the only person struggling with this problem and wanted to create a space to share all of my research, tips, and tricks. So stick around! I want to give you the resources to be successful in dreaming, designing, building, or even repairing your own camper.
